There were no field concerns when the Jacksonville Jaguars rolled into London ahead of the International Series Game at Wembley against the Indianapolis Colts.
The Jaguars trained at Allianz Park, the home of Saracens, on Friday afternoon ahead of the big game at Wembley.
Saracens, who won the European and Aviva Premiership double last season, invested in a brand new SIS Grass Synthetic system over the summer to cope with the increased demands on the increasingly successful Allianz Park.
The latest summer installation now means that highflying Saracens are playing on a surface with 25% more yarn than their previous field. This will help to keep the field top in perfect playing condition.
The field features a new, larger-sized recycled infill, which helps promote better drainage and less compaction than the previous field, and helps provide a fast and safe playing surface, perfect for top-level rugby and mid-week community use.
The new SIS Grass Synthetic system comes three and a half years after the original installation at the club’s Allianz Park. During this time, Saracens have won the Aviva Premiership twice and the European Champions Cup and LV Cup once.
The original surface is being relocated within the local area and will offer many years more usage.
Bryn Lee, SIS Pitches Managing Director said: “It is very exciting for us to see the Jacksonville Jaguars using our latest SIS Grass Synthetic field at Allianz Park.”
“The NFL is renowned for their athleticism and size, and we have no doubts the players will enjoy practicing on the new carpet with its shockpad and denser fibers which means the field has more durability and the field is kinder to players upon impact.
