Natural Grass

We provide a full natural grass field construction or reconstruction project. A single source for the entire process of installing any natural grass sports surface. From removal of your old field through to matchday and ongoing maintenance.

The area is laser graded to a field profile that helps rainwater drain away efficiently (envelope profile shown).  Drainage trenches are excavated and a geotextile membrane laid. A double-walled drainage pipe is then laid on to a base layer of gravel (herringbone pitch layout shown).

The gravel drainage layers are laid and laser-graded to follow the underlying field profile. SIS Aqua irrigation system is then laid, along with the sprinklers positioned in the field.

Sand is laid and SIS Heat undersoil heating (cooling in hot climates) pulled through. We irrigate to compact this layer before approximately 100mm of sand is mixed with organic amendments to form the rootzone. Once again, with our fields, the sand and rootzone layers are laser graded to complement the lower profiles and achieve the most efficient drainage performance and longevity.

Our self-developed solution for the ongoing management of sprinkler heads is installed. SIS Hydrobox allows grounds teams to easily remove the surrounding turf and the sprinkler head itself from the field profile, enabling seamless fixing, changing or cleaning of sprinklers without any field damage or major repair.

We will help you decide on growing your pitch from seed, or using our own turf farms to lay your pitch for quicker establishment. SIS Grass Hybrid can also be stitched into both methods for up to three times more play, quicker recovery and more consistent playing surface.

Line marking is completed, grass mowed, and artificial surrounds installed for a match ready appearance.

Goal foundations and sockets will be installed, preferably before the grass surface has been laid with corner flag sockets fitted afterward.
