FC Barcelona, one of the most prestigious football clubs in the world, known for their high standards in sports performance and innovation, required advanced pitch technology for their training facilities.

THE BACKGROUND

The club had tested various hybrid pitch systems over the years, seeking the perfect balance of natural grass and durability to support intensive usage. After careful consideration, FC Barcelona chose SIS Grass Hybrid technology for two pitches at their Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper training ground in August 2018.

Installed two SIS Grass Hybrid pitches using our patented injection technology.
Reinforced 95% natural turf with polyethene fibres to ensure faster pitch recovery and extended durability.
Delivered a seamless installation with laser precision for improved pitch stability and consistency.

THE OUTCOME

The new SIS Grass pitches have significantly improved training conditions at FC Barcelona. The faster surface recovery allows for increased usage, while the soft, resilient fibres provide excellent stability and a natural playing experience.

FC Barcelona after years of testing different hybrid pitch systems decided to install two SIS Grass reinforced natural grass pitches for their first team at Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper training ground in August 2018. The fact that SIS Grass was installed at six of the 2018 World Cup Stadiums including Luzhniki, which performed perfectly throughout the tournament and at the final despite a very intensive programme of usage, made our decision even easier.SIS Grass installation was quick, efficient and seamless. The SIS Grass yarn is soft and resilient with a very natural appearance, installed with laser precision which improves pitch stability and consistency. The faster surface recovery means more training sessions and matches to our teams, which has been proven on our two year old SIS Grass training area. We will definitely recommend SIS Grass to other sports clubs, where pitch performance is key.
