Water-based Field Hockey Pitches

SIS Pitches manages the complete sports surface project, from design, construction and installation, right through to pitch maintenance and aftercare.

Water-based surfaces are designed for high-performance field hockey. They offer excellent ball-to-surface and player-to-surface interaction, in part due to the reduced friction. They support fast-paced play, making them the go-to solution for top-level training and competition venues.

Designed to meet FIH (International Hockey Federation) standards, our water-based hockey systems are the preferred choice of numerous top universities, elite clubs, and international venues. They deliver unmatched performance, speed, safety and longevity.

Our water-based hockey fields use our specially developed Xcel Ultra carpet, which is produced at our manufacturing facility.

Sand-dressed Field Hockey Pitches

Sand-dressed fields offer an excellent balance of affordability and performance. They are generally more cost-effective to build and run than a water-based field, as they do not require a specialized irrigation system. They provide a smooth, consistent playing surface and allow for good ball control and dynamic skills. While sand-dressed surfaces provide field hockey-specific quality, they are also ideal for both multi-sport use.

Our sand-dressed hockey pitches combine durability and performance, making them popular for field hockey clubs, schools, colleges, and community sports facilities. Manufactured in our facility, our carpet meets FIH standards, ensuring a reliable and safe surface for all levels of play.

Dry-Turf Hockey Pitch

Our innovative dry-turf hockey system, Xcel Eco, was developed as an alternative to water-based fields.

Unlike traditional dry-turf systems, our surface eliminates the need for any kind of wetting or irrigation, while closely mimicking the feel and performance of a traditional water-based field.

Engineered and manufactured at our manufacturing facility, this system delivers exceptional playability and consistency, meeting FIH Innovation Standards.
