We're the first and only B Corporation in the sports surface industry. It gives us third party assurance that we are striving to be a positive influence on society and the environment.

What is a B Corporation?

B Corp Certification is a designation that a business is meeting high standards of verified performance, accountability and transparency on factors from employee engagement and charitable giving to supply chain practices and input materials.

B-Corp status solidifies who we have always been and provides us with a framework on which our business continues to grow.

Assessed and certified

B Corp’ is the only certification that measures a company’s entire performance and evaluates how its operations, business model and profits affect employees, the environment, customers and the community.

Our B-Corp certification took a total of two years to obtain. The rigorous assessment process involves completing over 300 B-impact questions on five key areas of the business: workers; governance; environment; customers and the community.

Our dedicated Sustainability Manager and the B Corp program helps us to closely track our impact on people and the planet. Re-certification is every three years ensuring we are putting the right priorities and goals at the heart of everything we do.

Our commitment to our B Corp status involves:

Show transparency on our carbon reporting.
Transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources.
Reduce reliance on potable water supplies, enhance rainwater harvesting and water recycling
Decarbonising our processes
Invest in energy efficiency, including on-site generation and storage, LED lighting solutions, electric vehicles and charging infrastructure.
Replacing older equipment with more energy-efficient solutions
Removal or optimisation of air compression, space heating and cooling systems at our facilities.
Efficient scheduling of maintenance to minimise energy and water wastage.
Conduct energy audits identify inefficiencies and areas for continuous improvement.
Commit to maintaining open, constructive dialogue with stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, investors and communities.
Provide training and support to our teams and customers to promote transparency, shared understanding and commitment.
Continue with our ‘giving back’ initiatives and projects for communities around the world.
Made a legal commitment by changing our corporate governance structure to be accountable to all stakeholders and not prioritise profit over sustainability.

Sustainability strategy

RECYCLING WASTE INTO RESOURCES

Recovery and recycling of materials is a core commitment for SIS Pitches. We recycle uplifted, end-of-life pitches, recovering the old playing surface, infill and shock pads wherever practical. We are actively seeking to develop new technologies and methods to enhance recycling within our industry and always look to offer the best recycled products as options for our customers.

We closely monitor current sector trade and sporting body guidance to ensure our strategy adheres to their recommendations.
