Hybrid surfaces can have a lifespan of multiple years and combine the durability of an artificial pitch but the playability, performance and safety of a natural surface.

Our patented system provides greater speed of installation, flexibility and the highest quality stitching of synthetic fibres into the profile of your pitch. Two tone, natural-looking fibres are cut and injected into the surface, looping at the deepest point. Our SIS Grass Hybrid machines offer the option to stitch into early established growth or pre-existing fully mature pitches.

We will work with you to find the right spacings between fibres. Choosing between 20mm x 10mm, 20mm x 15mm, 20mm x 20mm, 20mm x 25mm and 20mm x 30mm, we’ll meet expectations on usage and budget, customising your surface for your sport, your subsurface profile and performance requirements.

We also have the widest choice of stitching depth in the market. We’ll advise you on depths of 45mm, 80mm, 110mm, 145mm and 180mm to suit your sport, frequency of use, longevity, soil composition and budget.

The natural grass grows in amongst the stitched fibres at a higher height in which the fibres are cut to. Meanwhile beneath the surface, the natural root mass will grow and entangle within the fibres to form the strongest of networks ready to take frequent sporting contests taking place above ground.

The newly formed stitched profile will aid in the movement of surface water as the stitched fibres create a channel for water and air movement throughout the profile. This enables a cleaner more aerobic growing environment which can aid the roots to find more pore space and become stronger as well as deeper than they would normally grow.

The benefits to the plant do not stop there. Growth conditions are maximised by the stitched channels creating more porosity into the profile creating a cleaner environment for developing a stronger grass plant, promoting cell division, elongation and the absorption of nutrients. Undersoil heating systems are also maximised with heat transferring its way more easily through the rootzone. Mow the surface, the fibres become unnoticeable and you’re ready for play.

Not only will your sports surface be healthier and look better for longer, your pitch will be able to withstand far more play. Your surface will take more force, recover faster from damage and remain in a safe consistent state for the player.  The fibres will be installed at the height above the surface that suits your sport and usage requirements.

When damage from play occurs, a hybrid system means that the plant is more effectively reinforced, the root structure is strong and protected. The recovery begins instantly as the fibres return to an upright position levering the grass to grow back in the process.

Pitch renovation on an annual basis is required to remove any organic layer built up over the season. The hybrid fibres will remain in place and be ready to provide a canopy for the new growth. Normal fertilising, over-seeding, sand top-dressing and grooming processes can all continue as they would with any natural grass surface.
