Material Sourcing

Ingredients derived from corn plant sugars, sugarcane plant sugars, and bacteria - 100% renewable origins.

Biopolymer synthesis

Raw materials are converted into high-performance biopolymers with properties engineered to match conventional synthetics.

Stabilisation

A state-of-the-art biodegradable masterbatch (UV stailisers, anti-static, colour and more) is added for pigmentation, climate adaptation, and ease of processing.

Extrusion

Pellets are processed into Bio-X™ Fiber using specialised machinery - fully compatible with existing installation systems.

Just like conventional hybrid fibers, Bio-X™ Fiber provides reinforcement in the ground, delivering a stronger, more durable surface with increased playability. After pitch removal, it is designed to fully disintegrate within 12 weeks under controlled industrial composting conditions.

EFFICIENT REMOVAL

Top layer of turf with Bio-X fibers removed using standard frazemowing machinery and transported to a local industrial composting facility. No specialised equipment required.

INDUSTRIAL COMPOSTING

In a controlled environment (high moisture, up to 75°C), microorganisms digest the fibers alongside the turf, converting the material into stabilised organic matter within 12 weeks.

Nutrient return

NUTRIENT RETURN

The result is high-quality compost, free from persistent microplastics, returned to the soil - often used in agriculture. A true circular outcome.

End-of-life comparison

Bio-X provides a more responsible end-of-life solution. Unlike traditional hybrid systems that leave persistent synthetic fibers in the ground, Bio-X is designed to break down naturally or be industrially composted, reducing environmental impact and simplifying future pitch installation.
