SIS Pitches upgrade more 3G pitches for the community

The Client

The 3g pitch project was carried out for a school under a framework agreement that supports the capital investment programmes of the Rugby Football Union (RFU), Football Association (FA), Sport England, England Hockey, and Football Foundation (FF).

THE BACKGROUND

The school required a complete upgrade of its existing artificial pitch to meet the latest football and rugby training standards. The aim was to create a modern facility that could be used by both the school and the local community while adhering to the framework’s design, manufacture, installation, and maintenance requirements.

THE BRIEF

The project involved removing and replacing the old pitch system, expanding the facility, and installing additional features to enhance usability for football and rugby. The project must be completed on time and within budget to ensure availability for the new school term.

WHAT WE DID

SIS Pitches carried out the following works:

Removed the existing carpet, shock pad, and fencing.
Extended the width of the pitch and installed a new collector drain and perimeter kerbs.
Installed a new in-situ shock pad and a 3G surface suitable for football and rugby training.
Added new twin-bar fencing, sports equipment, and a new mowing strip.
Refurbished the existing floodlighting.

The transformation replaced the old sand-filled system with the latest 3G pitch system suitable for both sports.

THE OUTCOME

The project was completed on time and within budget, delivering a facility that benefits the school and the local community. Bill Toth, Business Manager at the school, shared his satisfaction:
