Revolutionary new 3G pitch infill product debuts at The City Academy, Hackney

Children at The City Academy, Hackney will become one of the first in the UK to enjoy a new synthetic turf playing surface featuring a revolutionary pitch infill product which is a premium alternative to traditional rubber crumb (SBR) infills.

The new facility, which was manufactured and installed by SIS Pitches, is a resurface of an existing pitch, and will provide all-year round access to training for pupils at the Academy.

The installation of the 3G pitch at the school marks one of the first uses of the new high-quality infill which is exclusive to SIS Pitches. The grass installed at the school is SIS Grass Synthetic Xtra Ultra which uses a highly-durable fine fibrillated yarn, to create a proven surface that balances durability and performance.

The new SIS Grade infill is made from Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM). The product is highly durable and conforms to the strictest REACH and EN safety standards. It is also highly resistant to ageing, weathering and UV.
