In the world of golf, there are few experiences as revered as a visit to Royal Dornoch in Scotland or Slieve Donard in Northern Ireland. These iconic golf courses, steeped in history and surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty, have long been regarded as must-visit destinations for golf enthusiasts from around the globe.
During May and June, it was both our Ireland and UK divisions turn to visit these locations. Working in partnership with USA based & world renowned Golf specialists Celebrity Greens to create state-of-the-art practice greens with the aim of redefining the golfing experience at these esteemed locations.
Slieve Donard Marine & Lawn Hotels & Resorts
The first leg of the project was the construction and installation of a custom-designed, professional-grade synthetic putting green over in Northern Ireland at the Slieve Donard Hotel and Resort in Northern Ireland. The hotel overlooks the Irish Sea and is situated just a stone’s throw from the number one golf course in the world, Royal County Down.
The 7,000-square-foot golf green boasts a practice experience that is as challenging as it is breathtaking. The carefully sculpted contours provide the challenge needed to allow golfers to fine-tune their skills before making their way to one of the many top golf courses in the area.
Slieve Donard has always been celebrated for its golf appeal, but the newly installed golf practice green has elevated this location’s customer experience to an even higher level.
Dornoch Station Hotel
For the second project in Scotland, our teams headed from the number one-ranked golf course in the world across to rank three, Royal Dornoch, Scotland. Here they constructed and installed another professional-level green within the grounds of the newly renovated Dornoch Station Hotel. What better way to complete it than with this stunning green?
The 6500-square-foot green is slightly smaller than the one at Slieve Donard, but it poses just as much of a challenge. The photos don’t do the complexity and impeccable contouring of the green justice; it is simply a masterpiece and the perfect solution to start or end a day of golf.
If your round of golf hasn’t gone so well, at least you’re surrounded by all of the natural beauty.
