The Process
Expert Design
The design of your sports & leisure area is the foundation of a successful project. It’s important
to consider factors such as the space and budget available, as well as the performance needs.
Its also helpful to have all the relevant documents and surveys you need to fulfil the requirements of
local authorities and planning departments.
Manufacture
In order to fulfil the plans for your design, its important to source from a supplier with bespoke options who can tailor the product to your needs. There are many options to consider: pile height, gauges, colour, infill, backing, etc. Some surfaces are for a single purpose, like soccer or hockey. Others need to fulfil the requirements for multiple sports or activities.
CONSTRUCTION
Before installation can begin, the foundation needs to be prepared so that the pitch can meet
the challenges of a busy active area. For an artificial surface, the assembling the base involves setting it up for drainage, aligning the levels and a laying down the shockpad. For a natural area, its important to analyse the soil, weather profiles and drainage.
Installation
Once a solid foundation has been constructed, the grass needs to be properly fitted to the area.
Following this, you may wish to add fencing, lighting and sports equipment such as goals and
flag.
Maintenance
A well-maintained sports and leisure area is the key to keeping it in the best condition. This means that the area will perform better for longer. Its also helpful to have a good system that you can use to track maintenance activities use this information to adapt the maintenance plan, where necessary.
