St Joseph's college, Multi use games area, MUGA, schools artificial turf pitch, synthetic grass, SIS Pitches

Before the project began in 2016, Mr Anthony Leggett visited other SIS Pitches projects.

After scouting out two separate locations, the school decided to proceed at the present site for this project, where SIS Pitches assisted the school with preparation of the plans to secure planning approval. After completion there has been talks to secure more projects at the site for SIS Pitches to attain for future development of the college.

The full project, leading to the installation of MUGA, ran from May through to July 2016 when the pitches were completed under the management of Simon Mroczek, and Mathew Streeter.
The project included a brand new 40 x 30m MUGA pitch and the resurfacing of an existing 30 x 19m netball court, both using the SIS Turf Multiplay 21 to give the pitches a durable and easy to maintain finish for the use of a range of sports.

Additional works on the site to complete this project included new fencing and floodlighting providing the pitches with a completely new and improved standard of play.
Mr Anthony Leggett was pleased with the final result and commented:

“SIS Pitches have today completed installation of our new Multi Games Areas, on time and on budget, just as they promised. The courts look amazing and our students can’t wait to get on to them and start to take advantage of this significant improvement to our facilities. These courts replace an often waterlogged grass pitch and SIS Pitches made the area playable all year round through the installation of an extensive drainage system. I am delighted with the result and am already looking at the next project they can develop for me.“
